21 Feb 2020
Ultra-Trail Australia is pleased to announce that MINI has joined on as a partner for its high-profile Blue Mountains trail running event.
The new agreement will see MINI and its adventurous MINI Countryman, the MINI SUV, partner with Ultra-Trail Australia in 2020.
Ultra-Trail Australia is the country’s largest trail running festival and will see thousands of runners weave their way around the New South Wales Blue Mountains in a series of events between 14 and 17 May 2020.
Ultra-Trail Australia is a part of The IRONMAN Group Oceania’s portfolio, which in 2020 features 34 IRONMAN, running, mountain biking and multi-sport events across Australia and New Zealand.
Dave Beeche, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Oceania for The IRONMAN Group, said the organisation was looking forward to working with MINI on this iconic event.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome MINI to the organisation,” said Beeche. “We’re thrilled that they’ve come on board to work with us on this major event that is an important part of our portfolio and iconic within the trail running community.
“It’s great that we’re able to begin our partnership with Ultra-Trail Australia, with the event leading the way as the largest trail running festival in Australia,” he said. “We look forward to working with the MINI team in 2020 to achieve the goals of both organisations.”
Head of Marketing for MINI Australia and New Zealand, Alex McLean said: “Ultra-Trail Australia embodies everything the MINI Countryman stands for – adventure. While the MINI Countryman knows its way around the city, its heart is in the hills and we are ecstatic to use this platform to connect with the rugged, resilient and stylish participants that this event attracts.”
MINI will interact with participants at a range of activations both on course and at the finish of the Ultra-Trail Australia event.
